We love to dance, so I am always excited to find books that encourage us to get up and get moving. Today we had the opportunity to check out a fun book about a brightly colored and mischievous bear who loves to dance and move.

There are so many kinds of love, and it is so important that we teach kids that love, kindness and affection are some of the best things in life. I love sharing books about love with my daughter. I want her to know that love isn’t just a sentiment that we say to one another before bed, but that it is something that we feel, and something we should embody. These children’s books about love celebrate the love between family members, the love children have for their toys, and even the love that animals have for one another. There are even two books about robots learning about the meaning of love!
Valentine’s Day is a fun time to celebrate all kinds of love, friendship, and relationships. I believe that teaching kids to be kind is one of the most important things that we can do for them. I love the holidays! Holiday books make up a large part of our collection of Christmas books. To help families get into the holiday spirit and keep learning during the Christmas season, I decided to gather some of my favorite Christmas books and activities for families to enjoy together!
Coding is something that I wished I learned more of in school. I love that they are teaching coding at a young age now, because it will give kids a leg up in the technological world that they are growing up in. Plus, it is so much fun for them to see how the code they are writing is affecting the machines that they are working with. So I was thrilled when we had the opportunity to work with Unruly Splats to check out their new programmable floor tiles and coding game for kids!
We all have times in our lives when we feel wronged by another party for a slight that we perceived to be malicious, but turned out to be an innocent misunderstanding. It can be difficult for children especially to look past themselves and consider the reasons behind the actions of another person. Today’s book deals with this type of situation in a fun and hilarious way, through the story of a potato who is looking to buy a pair of pants.
I love when new products allow kids to enter the world of their favorite books. Who doesn’t want to be fully immersed in their favorite literary worlds, and connect with their favorite characters? I am also a fan of integrating some technology into my daughter’s learning, so I am always interested in products that can help me to teach. Today we had the opportunity to check out a new augmented reality app that allows kids to enter a beloved children’s book, while they play along with the characters.
