Learning about Collective Nouns
Did you know that a group of geese is called a gaggle? How about a group of dolphins being a pod? I have always found collective nouns to be interesting. Some of them are funny, some of them are the same across different species. Today I am happy to share a cute kids book about language arts, collective nouns, and animals. One of my favorite parts of the day is snuggling up with my daughter and reading to her before bed. Each night we finish our reading time with a picture book about love, or a soothing bedtime story. The presidential election is coming up. So it is the perfect time to start talking to kids about voting and elections. My daughter has started noticing lawn signs on neighbor’s yards, and asking me questions about the election. When We Stayed Home: A Children’s Book about the Pandemic
The COVID pandemic shook the world. As hard as it has been for adults to comprehend, it has been just as difficult, if not harder, for kids. Suddenly we yanked them from school, told them they had to stay home, and didn’t let them see their friends (other than on a screen). To make matters worse, we didn’t give them any indication when it would end. As I write this, life still isn’t back to normal, and may never be the same as it was before. To help kids understand the lockdown, and encourage them to do their part to help, I am thrilled to share a beautiful children’s book about the pandemic and the time we had to stay home.

She was a strong woman who fought for women’s rights, and many more important causes.
