I think we can all agree that a little more love and compassion in the world is always welcome. And teaching our kids the meaning of love and kindness is a great first step. We are raising the next generation, so let’s raise them to care for one another better than we are now. Today, we were thrilled to check out this new children’s book about compassion, and pair it with some acts of kindness for kids.

Sloths are Slow: A Children’s Book about Sloths
Sloths are entertaining animals. I feel like they have been given more attention in pop culture in recent years. (Partially thanks to the funny sloth character in Zootopia, and Kristen Bell’s intense love of them). Why do we find these animals so enjoyable? Is it because they exhibit the one quality that we can’t seem to grasp? Slowing down and not getting caught up in today’s speedy lifestyle? For whatever reason, we decided to celebrate these cute animals by pairing some fun sloth activities with this adorable interactive children’s book about sloths!
Teaching Kids to Look at the World Differently
I love books that encourage kids to look at the world in a different way, and let their imagination soar. So I was excited when we got the chance to check out this new book that takes familiar plants, animals and insects and shows them in funny and surprising ways. My daughter loves the silliness in this story, so we paired it with some funny and colorful activities for kids. If you are interested in teaching kids to look at the world differently, I definitely recommend checking it out!
Exploring Pool Safety with Rosie the Dragon!
Summer time is here, which means lots of fun in the sun and the water! Before you head out to the pool though, it is important that you go over some of the rules. Since my daughter is still young, we are spending a lot of time talking about pool safety this year. So I was thrilled when we were given the opportunity to check out this book that explores pool safety while telling a fun story about a pet dragon! We also paired it with summer activities for kids that review sun safety and pool safety, and also encourage bubbly fun.
Preparing for Spring with Gardening Activities for Kids!
Spring is finally here, which means the flowers are starting to bloom and we are looking forward to spending more time outside. We are constantly inspired by my neighbor’s beautiful garden, so this year my daughter has decided that she would like a garden of her own. Luckily, we had the opportunity to check out this fun new book from Sleeping Bear Press about creating the perfect garden – even if it isn’t the exact garden you planned. We also paired it with fun gardening activities for kids, so get ready to get your hands dirty!

Learning about Holi with Kids!
Holi is an Indian festival of colors that celebrates the triumph of good over evil, forgetting resentments and welcoming new beginnings. The festival includes lots of singing and dancing, and is well known for the vibrantly colored powders that people throw while celebrating. I am always interested in learning about holidays and traditions from other countries and cultures, and now I get to share them with my daughter as well. Today we are sharing a beautiful children’s book about Holi and creating some fun Holi crafts with all the bright colors!
