My parents raised my sister and I to believe that we could do anything. I want my daughter to grow up believing the same. So in addition to trying to be a great role model for her, I am always looking for books that share stories of inspirational women that she can look up to. From women in government to women who took a stand, these are all remarkable women that I want my daughter to know. There are some wonderful books about women in history, and this list includes some of our favorites right now.

With St. Patrick’s Day around the corner, we have been having lots of fun with rainbows, leprechauns and pots of gold. So we were thrilled to check out this new festive children’s book starring Pete the Cat and pair it with some fun St. Patrick’s Day activities!
Kids love dinosaurs. Is it the large size of them? Is it the mystery? Whatever it is, there are lots of wonderful children’s books about dinosaurs to satisfy your dinosaur lover’s appetite! We have had the chance to check out some great new dinosaur books for kids, and wanted to share them with all of you. Check out these fun and engaging dinosaur characters with a wide range of personalities that your kids will love!
I always enjoy books that encourage kids to see the strength and bravery that they have inside. I especially love stories that show them how to use their strengths in ways they hadn’t thought of before. Today’s book is about a bear who discovers his own bravery and uses it to become the star of his own story.
I have always enjoyed when authors take familiar stories and poems and put their own spin on it. One of my favorite stories growing up was a twist on the story of the 3 Little Pigs. Since my daughter is already familiar with lots of stories and fairy tales, we have a lot of fun reading different versions of the same stories. Today’s book takes the story of Hansel and Gretel and turns it completely on it’s head. With current jokes, a blast of imagination, and even a stab at sexism in fairy tales, this is a twisted fairy tale that everyone can laugh along with!
We love to dance, so I am always excited to find books that encourage us to get up and get moving. Today we had the opportunity to check out a fun book about a brightly colored and mischievous bear who loves to dance and move.
Did you have an influential librarian in your life? I vividly remember visiting our school library as a child, and I have lots of memories of our librarian. There are several books that I remember her reading to us, and I now enjoy reading them to my daughter.
There are so many kinds of love, and it is so important that we teach kids that love, kindness and affection are some of the best things in life. I love sharing
