Spring is here, which means it’s time to start playing in the dirt again! At least, that’s what my daughter thinks Spring means…. So imagine how much she loved today’s book about a dirt loving dog, and the fun mud activities for kids that we paired with it!

Earth Day is the perfect time to talk to kids about the beauty of our planet, as well as the ways that we can make a difference in protecting it. This list of children’s books for Earth Day is a great way to introduce little ones to the difference that they can make, and the changes that others are making.
One of the things I love about children’s books is that, more often than not, they are metaphorical. Children are so impressionable that in the early years, we are teaching them HOW to think, and not necessarily WHAT to think. Which is why I was inspired to speak out when I received a request to review a book that was determined to draw a dividing line for kids that we are seeing every day in the United States. Instead of accepting it, I decided it was time to rethink how we talk to kids about politics, and to share a more inspiring book that gives kids a different look at people in power.
I love finding new children’s books that introduce young kids to inspirational people and the changes that they have made in the world. Reading about real life people and their contributions to the world can inspire them to overcome their own obstacles and do great things. So today I am thrilled to share these new children’s books about inspirational people and the ways that they have made the world a better place.

Time seems to be dragging to a stop lately with all of the quarantines and closures. But Easter is right around the corner, and we are still looking forward to it! Since school is closed and we are doing our learning at home, I was inspired to create some fun art themed Easter baskets for kids, with our favorite Crayola products, and art themed children’s books!
