It’s the Spooky season! So we are excited to share some new Halloween books for kids. From pumpkins and candy to skeletons and monsters, there is all kinds of Halloween fun in these books!

Little Witch Cat

Illustrated by Emily Dove

This adorable little finger puppet book follows Witch Cat as she mixes things in her cauldron, tidies up her house, and has a party with her friends. The rhyming text is paired with cute illustrations with a hole in each page, offering a space for the cute finger puppet to appear in each scene.

The Runaway Mummy

Written by Michael Rex

This parody of the classic children’s book The Runaway Bunny follows a little mummy who threatens to run away and his mother mummy who shares all the ways she will stop him. Kids will laugh at the many creative ways the mother comes up with to keep her little mummy with her and the funny way the little one finally wins.

Trick or Treat on Scary Street

Written by Lance Bass and illustrated by Roland Garrigue

Join 13 trick-or-treaters as they make their way down Scary Street visiting a vampire’s lair, a witch’s cottage, a haunted home, and a creepy cabin. The dark illustrations are full of gorgeous backgrounds and spooky settings, and kids will love the fun surprise ending of the story.

Spooky Lakes

Written by Geo Rutherford

This large nonfiction book is based on the hit TikTok series about spooky lakes. The book begins with an introductory note and facts about lakes. Each of the 25 featured lakes is then introduced over several pages with tons of creepy/scary stories and dark illustrations. The back of the book features a conclusion, author’s note, glossary, index, and bibliography.
