Poopsie Gets Lost
Written by Hannah E. Harrison
In this hilarious story, a pampered cat named Poopsie is encouraged by the pushy narrator to go out and find adventure in the world outside her cat door. The text follows the narrator’s prompts for Poopsie, giving her terrible advice and getting her into all kinds of trouble. The illustrations show Poopsie getting into difficult situations, but eventually conquering everything the narrator throws at her. Kids will love Poopsie’s attitude and the funny way that she gets herself out of trouble and gets back at the narrator.

Until he walks out the front door. The mixed media illustrations are full of interesting details for readers to explore, with each window showing something new.
Cat Ladies

This story introduces readers to Princess, a cat who takes care of her four older cat ladies. They get glam together, run errands, watch birds, and enjoy each other’s company. But when a young girl comes around, suddenly the cat ladies are doting on her and Princess is left behind. When she leaves to find a new space for a cat nap, she gets into some trouble and requires help from all the cat ladies to get free. Kids will love the hilarious illustrations of the cat ladies and the fun they have with Princess.
Meowsterpieces

This fun twist on an alphabet book pairs each letter of the alphabet with a word associated with cats. The large, life-like illustrations are full of fun details, and there are lots of facts about cats spread throughout the book as well. This is a great resource for young kids interested in learning about cats.
Wild
Written by Sam Usher
This creative story follows a young boy and his grandfather as they try to take care of a cat. At first, they struggle to figure out what it is the cat wants. But soon it leads them on an adventure that brings them all together. Young kids may appreciate the familiar situation of trying to win over a pet, and will enjoy the beautiful illustrations when the characters embark on a voyage together.

Castle Gesundheit

This funny tale shares the story of Baron Von Sneeze, who lives in Castle Gesundheit. The villagers in the neighboring village of Handkerchief have to deal with the Baron’s constant coughing and sneezing. In this full color illustrated chapter book, Kitty wants a phone. But as the narrator explains, phones cost a lot of money, and Kitty will have to do extra chores around the house to earn the phone. Kids will love watching the funny cat beg, plead, and bargain for a phone, and then learn the dangers that can be lurking online and on the phone.
Harvey and the Collection of Impossible Things
Written by Garret Weyr
This chapter book follows the journey of a cat who lives in the big city. He explains to the reader why he is hesitant to trust humans, and he shares the friends he makes in the city and the way he learns to be brave. There are simple drawings scattered throughout the story, giving kids a glimpse into the difficulty of life on the streets for a cat.
