I love children’s books that take our favorite stories, movies, characters, or songs from out in the world and create fun stories for us to share. So today I’m sharing some of our favorite new pop culture books for kids!

The simple text introduces the six main characters, and shares all of the ways that friendship can make life better. The cute cartoon illustrations showcase familiar moments from the show, making this a lot of fun for adult fans of the show to read to their kids.
Rock Legends Who Changed the World
Written by Ashley Mireles and illustrated by Giovanna Medeiros
This board book introduces young readers to some of the rock superstars who changed the world of music. From Elvis Presley and Aretha Franklin to Queen and The Rolling Stones, this book is full of musical legends from a range of genres. Each two page spread features a different act, sharing a quote from them, background information, and tidbits about their impact on music. The brightly colored cartoon illustrations are full of fun details too.

All Aboard! Mickey’s Railway
Written by Nichole Mara and illustrated by Andrew Kolb
This fold out book opens up to a 3 foot long train featuring Mickey, Minnie and their friends. As the pages unfold, kids can lift the flaps and peek into the train cars on a hunt for Mickey’s missing kite. The text on each page asks the reader to find different shapes, colors, or numbers of items in the illustrations. Kids will love the interactive elements of the book, and helping their favorite Disney characters.
