Tiny T. Rex and the Perfect Valentine

Written by Jonathan Stutzman and illustrated by Jay Fleck

This adorable board book features the sweet and thoughtful Tiny T. Rex as he tries to make the perfect Valentine for his stegosaurus friend Pointy. As he cuts, glues, and writes on his card, he discovers that creating a perfect Valentine is harder than he thought. In the end, his friend Pointy shows him the real secret of a “perfect Valentine”. The illustrations show the cute little dino struggling to create his card, ending up covered in sparkly glitter. Kids will recognize the frustration of the little dinosaur, and will love the sweet ending of the story.

Written by Tara Knudson and illustrated by Pauline Siewert

This sweet Valentine’s Day board book follows a family of raccoons as they prepare for Valentine’s Day. The peppy rhyming text shows how the family creates Valentine’s cards, bakes a special treat, and invites friends over for a Valentine’s lunch. Bear Meets Bear

Written and illustrated by Jacob Grant

When Bear orders a new teapot, he is smitten by the delivery bear that comes to his door. He doesn’t know how to act, and he misses his chance to speak with her. So he decides to order another teapot in the hopes of seeing her again. His friend Spider watches as Bear tries over and over again to speak with the delivery bear. After many unsuccessful deliveries, Spider takes it upon himself to get the two bears talking. The illustrations are adorable, with bright pops of red and pink to highlight the love that Bear is starting to feel. Kids will love the cute characters and the funny twist at the end of the story.

Moo-Moo I Love You!

Written by Tom Lichtenheld and Amy Krouse Rosenthal

This sweet picture book celebrates the love between parent and child through a conversation between a mother cow and her calf. The mother cow shares all of the things she loves about her little calf and their life together. The text uses funny cow puns, emphasizing the “moo” sound in words like “mood”, “museum” and “communicate”. This sweet story of friendship follows a little porcupine who wants to celebrate Valentine’s Day with his friends. He tries to use his own porcupine quills as Cupid’s arrows and encourage his friends to celebrate with him. When his plan doesn’t go the way he thought it would, he has to find a way to save the holiday. The illustrations are brightly colored and full of cute animal characters, and kids will love the determined porcupine and his misguided attempt to celebrate the holiday.

How Do Dinosaurs Say I Love You?

Written by Jane Yolen and illustrated by Mark Teague

This sweet addition to the How Do Dinosaurs series shows that moms and dads love their little dinosaurs, no matter how they act. Some of our favorite bedtime books are included, such as I Love You Too and I Will Always Love You. These tiny versions do have very small text, which can be difficult for older adults to read, but their small size makes them perfect for little ones to carry around.
