Moon Spinner
This brainteaser toy from ThinkFun is a brightly colored puzzle that encourages kids to shift the colorful moving pieces to get them back in rainbow order. The plastic spinning circles are easy to move, making this a great brain teaser for kids. This fidget toy would be a great boredom buster for the car, or for a mindfulness corner in a home or classroom. Focusing on the spinning dials can help kids to settle their minds and focus. Recommended age: 8+
Ravel Tales
This fun ball of yarn is stuffed full of surprises. As kids slowly unravel the yarn, they find lots of tiny treats tucked inside, until they reach the stuffed animal in the middle. Unlike other surprise gifts, each of the pieces included in this kit can be used to create items for the little stuffed pet – including the yarn itself. Once the yarn is unraveled, kids can use the sewing needle and fabric pieces to create a bed for their pet, and more crafty items. Little DIYers will love crafting items for their little snuggle pets! Recommended age: 5+
tonies
These little hand painted magnetic figurines contain pre-recorded stories and songs for playing on the toniebox audio device. This screen free toy is a brightly colored fabric covered box that contains a speaker, and two little ears for volume control. Kids can control the box on their own, tapping the sides to move between tracks, and exchanging the tonie on top to change the story or song. These tonies would fit perfectly in a stocking, and they feature popular characters from movies and children’s books including Frozen, Cars, The Little Mermaid, and The Gruffalo. Once the content is uploaded to the toniebox, kids can easily play the content by placing the tonie on the top.
World’s Smallest Toys
These tiny replicas of your favorite classic toys are not only adorable, but they also work! Introduce kids to your favorite games from childhood like Kerplunk, the Slinky Dog, or the Barbie Dream House. These would be great for playing on the go, or to keep little hands busy during car rides. Adults can use them as small fidget toys on their desks as well! From Super Impulse. Recommended ages: 6+
BOB books
These small booklets feature short, easy to read stories for kids just beginning to read. The stories are simple and sometimes funny, encouraging beginning readers to read them on their own. The accompanying black and white illustrations have bits of color, and help the reader to understand the story with context clues. There are several themed boxes available such as animal stories. Little Bookworm has devoured these, and they have really increased her confidence in reading stories on her own.
Scribble Scrubbies
These little washable animals from Crayola are some of my daughter’s favorite toys. She loves coloring them, washing them, and coloring them all over again. There are tons of little animals available, ranging from dogs and cats, to unicorns and yetis. These little packs come with two pets and a set of markers. These pair well with the larger Scribble Scrubbie sets, or can be used on their own.
Finger Puppet Books
These adorable little board books are great stocking stuffers for babies and toddlers. Their tiny size and durable pages make them perfect for little hands, and the finger puppet head pops through each page, making the story come to life. Little ones will love the sweet illustrations and the soft finger puppet, and older kids will love performing the story for younger ones and introducing them to books!

Small pocket sized board books are a great stocking stuffer for little ones. There are lots of adorable stories available in board book form and these would fit perfectly into little stockings. Pancakes is a new board book from Lea Redmond and Flora Waycott that would fit perfectly into a stocking. Each page features pancakes with different toppings, encouraging kids to play a guessing game. The illustrations will have you jumping to create your own creative pancakes too!
Card Games
Card games are the perfect size for tucking into stockings. I also love that they are so easy to toss in a bag and take with us to restaurants, parties, or other places that Little Bookworm may need a little entertainment. Chronicle Books offers cute kid-friendly decks of cards including Old Mummy, Taro Gami’s Funny Fish and Taro Gami’s Play Anything.
Ornaments
I love giving my daughter a new ornament every year. It is a tradition that my parents started with us when we were younger, and it provided us with our own collections when we became adults and got our own trees. Every year, I try to find a new ornament that ties in to something my daughter currently loves. This way, she can look back at all the things she has been interested during her life. They make great stocking stuffers because they are small, but hold a lot of meaning. There are lots of great ornaments on Etsy, including this Elephant and Piggie themed one from TacoExplosions.
Art Supplies
Who doesn’t love a new box of crayons or markers? It feels like a new box of crayons holds infinite possibilities the moment you open it. Crayola has a wide range of quality art supplies and craft kits that would make fun stocking stuffers for kids. Some of our favorites include the Mess Free Activity Pads, the Quick Dry Paint Sticks, and the Mini Twist ‘m Sketch Set.
