My Grandma and Me

She prayed with her, learned from her, and spent time playing with her. Every morning, Papa follows the same routine. He gets up, drinks his tea, and does his daily tasks. But one day a week, he does things a little differently in preparation for a very special visit from his granddaughter. The colorful watercolor and cut paper illustrations show the love and excitement between the two, and their happiness at spending time together.

Looking for Yesterday

Written and illustrated by Alison Jay

When a young boy decides that yesterday was the very best day, he is determined to find a way to go back to it. He explores the science to go back in time to yesterday. Luckily, his grandfather uses his own memories of his best days to inspire the young boy to find happiness today, rather than always looking at the past. This story is a celebration of the joy that can be found in each day, and the wisdom that grandparents can share with us. The illustrations are full of details, and creative depictions of the boy’s imaginings. The crackled style of illustrations show the grandfather’s nostalgic memories in a fun way.
